Introduced in 1967, the second-generation C/K series by General Motors, known as the “Action Line,” improved upon its predecessor with a redesigned body for enhanced multipurpose use and continued to use its innovative drop-center ladder frame and coil-sprung rear axle. Notably, a large-block V8 was introduced in 1968, and from 1969 onwards, GM exclusively used Chevrolet-manufactured engines for these trucks. This era also saw the introduction of the Chevrolet Cheyenne and Sierra nameplates in 1971 and 1972, which remain prominent in GM’s lineup of full-size pickups to this day.
